Join us in Calgary for two CWA Certification opportunities and a chance to connect with other industry professionals. We are offering one Work at Height course at the Bolder Climbing Community (in-person Aug. 29-31) and the CWI Provider Course at the Calgary Climbing Centres - The Hanger (in-person Aug. 28-Sept. 1).

CWI Provider
The CWI Provider course trains candidates to do the following:
- Assess the climbing technical skills
- Assess interpersonal skills
- Assess risk management knowledge and skills
- Coach CWI Candidates to be exemplary Climbing Wall Instructors

Steps to earn your CWI Provider Certification
There are no grace periods given for the below assignments.
- Complete all three interactive lessons
- Complete an online quiz with a score of at least 80%
- Attend a virtual meeting with your Provider
- Attend an in-person assessment with your Provider
Work at Height - Competent
The WAH Competent course trains candidates to do the following:
- Access methods technical skills
- Risk Management when working at height
- Training and supervising authorized WAH
- Identifying and monitoring fall hazards and fall protection
- Use and care for WAH equipment

Steps to earn your WAH Competent Certification
There are no grace periods given for the below assignments.
- Attend the in-person attendance
- Complete an online quiz with a score of at least 80%
- Attend an in-person assessment with your Provider
REFUND POLICY
- Refund request 30 days in advance of the start date, 95% of total course cost is given.
- Refund request 14 days in advance of the start date, 75% of the total course cost is given.
- Refund requests within 14 days of the start date are reviewed and at the discretion of the organization.
CWI PROVIDER PREREQUISITES*
- Current membership in the CWA (provider or provider’s employer)
- 21 years of age or older
- Current first aid and CPR (for example, American Red Cross Basic - 5.5 to 6.5 hours, or equivalent)
- Current CWA CWI Level 3*
- Two non-related professional references, including contact information and phone number
*If you do not have a CWI Level 3, but hold a similar certification from another recognized organization, contact certification@cwapro.org.
WORK AT HEIGHT PREREQUISITES
- 18 years of age or will be by the conclusion of the course.
- Basic climbing skills.
- Proficient belay technique.
- Can lead climb 5.9 on artificial terrain.
- Can ascend a rope.
- Have reviewed the regulatory requirements in the jurisdiction in which they work.
- Have the ability to successfully complete the assessment of skills for this course.
CWI Provider Course Key Dates
- August 1: Online course access opens. Online components must be completed prior to in-person dates
- Virtual classroom call
- August 17: 10 am - 12 pm MT
- August 22: 10 am - 12 pm MT
- September 1: 10 am - 12 pm MT
- August 24: Registration deadline
- August 28: 9-5 pm local time In person assessment
- August 29 - September 1: Attend your personally scheduled exit interview with your course provider
